# Solve the following equations

3(y + 8) = 10(y – 4) + 8

Answer :

Given 3(y + 8) = 10(y – 4) + 8

expanding

3y + 24 = 10y – 40 + 8

Adding –3y on both sides

24 = 7y – 40 + 8

Adding 32 on both sides

7y = 56

Dividing by on both sides

y = 8
