# Solve the following examples.Find the length a diagonal of a rectangle having sides 11 cm and 60cm. Let ABCD be a rectangle, with

AB = CD = 60 cm

BC = DA = 11 cm

And AC be a diagonal.

As, A = 90°

ADC is a right-angled triangle, By Pythagoras Theorem i.e.

(Hypotenuse)2 = (base)2 + (Perpendicular)2

AC2 = (CD)2 + (DA)2

AC2 = 602 + 112

AC2 = 3600 + 121

AC2 = 3721

AC = 61 cm
