Let the level of water in cylinder tank rises in half an hour be H cm.

Given-

Radius of cylindrical tank(R) = 40 cm

Internal radius of cylindrical pipe(r) = 2/2 = 1 cm

Length of water flow in 1 second = 0.4 m

= (0.4 × 100) cm

= 40 cm

Length of water flow in 30 minutes(h) = 40× 30× 60 = 72000 cm

Now,

Volume of water in cylinder tank

= Volume of water flow from Cylindrical pipe in half an hour

⇒ π × (R)^{2}× H = π × (r)^{2}× h

⇒ (40)^{2}× H = (1)^{2}× 72000

⇒ H = 72000/1600 = 45 cm

∴ Level of water in cylinder tank rises in half an hour = 45 cm
