Answer :

Method of cross multiplication

a_{1}x + b_{1}y + c_{1} = 0

a_{2}x + b_{2}y + c_{2} = 0

This can be written as:

ax + by–(a–b) =0

bx – ay–(a+b)=0

So,

Here a_{1}= a a_{2} = b

b_{1}= b b_{2} = – a

c_{1}= –(a – b) c_{2} = –(a + b)

⇒ x = 1 and y = –1

**Hence values of x and y is 1,–1.**
