# Draw the graph of y = 2x + 1, y = 2x and y = 2x - . Are these parallel?

Given y = 2x + 1
If x = 0
⇒ y = 2(0) + 1 = 1
If x = 1
⇒ y = 2(1) + 1 = 2 + 1 = 3
If x = -2
⇒ y = 2(-2) + 1 = - 4 + 1 = - 3 Given y = 2x
If x = 0
⇒ y = 0
If x = 1
⇒ y = 2(1) = 2
If x = -2
⇒ y = 2(-2) = -4 Given y = 2x - If x = 0
⇒ y = 2x - = - If x = 1
⇒ y = 2x – = 2  – = 3/2
If x =  – 2
⇒ y = 2x  – =  – 4 – =  – 9/2 y = 2x + 1, y = 2x and y = 2x – are parallel to each other.
