# A rectangular piece

The length of the rectangle becomes the circumference of the base of the cylinder.

∴ 2π r = 44, where r is the radius of the cylinder.
... r =  = 7 cm
The width of the rectangle becomes the height of the cylinder,
i.e.  h = 20 cm.
...  Volume = π r2h =× 7 × 7 × 20 cm3 = 3080 cm3
