In figure 1, a tower AB is 20 m high and BC, its shadow on the ground, is 20√3 m long. Find the Sun’s altitude.

Given


Height of tower, AB = 20 m


Length of shadow,


Altitude of sun means we have to calculate the angle of elevation of the top of the tower from the tip of the shadow.


Let altitude = ACB = θ


Now In triangle ABC





θ = 30°
