2x + 3y = 15 …(ii)
Add equation (i) and (ii)
⇒ 3x + 2y + 2x + 3y = 10 + 15
Rearranging terms
⇒ 3x + 2x + 2y + 3y = 25
⇒ 5x + 5y = 25
⇒ 5 × (x + y) = 25
⇒ x + y =
∴ x + y = 5
