Q. 12

# Draw the graph for the equation –2x + y – 7 = 0. Check whether the point (-3, -2) is on the given line.

Answer :

–2x + y – 7 = 0

⇒ y = 2x + 7

x = 1

⇒ y = 2 + 7 = 9

x = 0

⇒ y = 2(0) + 7 = 0 + 7 = 7

x = -2

⇒ y = 2(-2) + 7 = -4 + 7 = 3

The point (-3, -2) does not lie on the graph.

⇒ y = 2x + 7

x = 1

⇒ y = 2 + 7 = 9

x = 0

⇒ y = 2(0) + 7 = 0 + 7 = 7

x = -2

⇒ y = 2(-2) + 7 = -4 + 7 = 3

The point (-3, -2) does not lie on the graph.
