The given equation is

Given one of the roots is 2.

So, 2 must satisfy the equation.

∴ 2 × (2)² + k × 2 + 4 = 0

⇒ 8 + 2k + 4 = 0

⇒ 2k + 12 = 0

⇒

Therefore, the value of k is -6.

∴ the equation is
