Given; (cos x)y = (cos y)x


Taking log on both sides we get,


log [(cos x)y] = log [(cos y)x]


y log (cos x) = x log (cos y)


Differentiating w.r.t x;

Given; sin y = x sin (a + y)



Differentiating both sides w.r.t y; Applying Quotient Rule
