D = b2 – 4ac
If D = 0, roots are real and equal
⇒ D = 4(k + 1)2 – 4 × 4(k + 4) = 0
⇒ 4k2 + 8k + 4 – 16k – 64 = 0
⇒ k2 – 2k - 15 = 0
⇒ k2 – 5k + 3k – 15 = 0
⇒ (k – 5)(k + 3) = 0
⇒ k = -3, 5
