# Write the common difference of an A.P. whose nth term is xn + y.

Answer :

Here, a_{n}=xn+ y

∴ a_{1}=x + y

And a_{2}=2x+y

So, common difference of an A.P. is given by

d=a_{2}–a_{1}

=(2x+y)-(x+y)

=x
