Q. 15.0( 2 Votes )

Name the property under multiplication used in each of the following:

Answer :

Now,

(i) Multiplicative Identity: when we multiply any rational number by 1, we get the number itself.
i.e. if m is any rational number, then we have
     1 × m = m × 1 = m

    Here,

Hence the property  applied here is multiplicative identity.

(ii) Commutative property:  If m and n are two rational numbers the
      Then, m × n = n × m

     Here,

Hence here commutative property is applied.

(iii) Multiplicative Inverse: A rational number c/d is called multiplicative inverse of a/b if

Here,

Hence the property applied here is multiplicative inverse.
