(i) It is addition of derivative of ammonia which is hydrazine here on the carbonyl carbon of ketone to give hydrazone.
(ii) When alkaline KMnO4 reacts with toluene, the entire side chain is oxidized to carboxyl group forming benzoic acid irrespective of length of side chain.
(iii) Benzoic acid undergo electrophilic substitution reaction in which –COOH group acts as meta directing and thus, on addition of Br2/FeBr3, m-bromobenzoic acid is formed.
