Pesticides are found in food grains such as wheat and rice, vegetables and fruits and even meat to contain varying amounts of pesticide residues. This is because pesticides being a poisonous chemical substance are sprayed in the fields of different crops to prevent the crops from any disease. On spraying, these pesticides also gets mixed up with the soil and water and the crop plants absorb them from soil and water due to which these pesticides enter the food chain and then gets transferred at each trophic level. That’s why they are found in wheat, rice food grain etc.
