(i) Yes, when one half of a convex lens of focal length 10 cm is covered with a black paper, the image is formed between f2 and 2f2. Since the rays of the object get refracted by upper half and therefore the image formed will be real, inverted and diminished. The ray diagram is as follows:

(ii) Object height, h1 = 4 cm

Focal length, f = +20 cm

Given: Object distance, u= -15 cm

Applying the lens formula

To find the height of image, using the formula:

h2= +16 cm

Therefore, the image formed will be virtual, erect and magnified.
