Answer :
In the story Madam Rides the Bus, Valli was determine to ride a bus. In order to do so, she asked her neighbours about the bus journey and the distance from her village to the town. She planned to save money for a two-way fare with much difficulty. While she was travelling by the bus she tried to be independent and behave like a mature adult. She enjoyed her journey but also knew not to get down at the town bus station because she was afraid and is careful not to talk to strangers. An accident occurs on her way back which shakes her, but she succeeds in completing her journey and fulfils her ambition. From this story, we can see that in spite of the difficulties, an eight-year-old girl is able to achieve her dream because she makes sacrifices while saving money for the bus fare instead of spending it on her childish urges and also travels alone despite her age.
