Answer :

As we know that on increasing distance between two bodies only attractive force decreases to zero compared to repulsive force or nuclear force, also we know in case of oxygen (O2) molecule, the distance between nucleons (proton or neutron) in a nucleus is much more smaller than distance between oxygen atoms So force between the nuclei of two oxygen atoms is not important as nuclear forces are short ranged forces.

Therefore option (a) is correct.
