Chapter 4: The Rattrap

Summary: “The Rattrap,” is a story written by famous Swedish writer Selma Lagerlof. The backdrop of this NCERT chapter is set amidst the iron ore-rich mines of Sweden.

Chapter 5: Indigo

Summary: “Indigo” is a story in NCERT syllabus that is based on the interview of Mahatma Gandhi taken by Louis Fischer in the year 1942. The Story is predominantly based on the Indigo movement, which was started by Gandhiji. The story throws light on the struggle faced by Gandhiji and other popular leaders to protect the interests of sharecroppers from the wrongdoing faced by landlords.
