(a) Rainbow is defined as the natural phenomenon in which due to dispersion of white light, an arch of seven colors is formed.


We see rainbow in the sky only after rainfall due to dispersion of sunlight by the tiny water droplets of rain present in the atmosphere. The water droplets acts like small prisms. The rain drops are refracted, dispersed and reflected internally and then refracted again. Due to these phenomena, we see a rainbow in the sky after rainfall.


(b) Yes, it is possible to obtain rainbow on the Earth because when white light passes through glass prism, it is splatted into seven colors.


(c) The terms used for the seven colors of the rainbow is : VIBGYOR


(d) At the top of the rainbow, the red color appears and at the bottom, violet color appears.


(e) Nalin has good knowledge of science and he shared interesting information about rainbow. Sharing information is the moral value towards his friends.
