Q. 8

# If points (1, 2), (–1, x) and (2, 3) are collinear, then the value of x will be:

A. 2

B. 0

C. –1

D. 1

Answer :

Given, points A (1, 2), B (–1, x) and C (2, 3) are collinear.

⇒ Slope of AB = Slope of AC

∴ x – 2 = –2 (1)

∴ x = 0.

∴ The correct option is **B**.
