# The shadow of a v

Let AB is a pillar, AC is the shadow of the pillar, and angle of elevation of the pillar from point C is ACB = θ.

Given, AC = AB

The side with angle of elevation is called base and side opposite to angle of elevation is called height of triangle.

We know that,

tan θ = 1 (Given: AC = AB)

θ = 45o
