Answer :

Given inequalities 5x + 1 > -24 and 5x – 1 < 24

5x + 1 > -24

⇒ 5x > -24 – 1

⇒ 5x > -25

⇒ x > -5 ………(I)

5x – 1 < 24

⇒ 5x < 24 + 1

⇒ 5x < 25

⇒ x < 5 ……….(II)

From (I) and (II) we conclude that solution of given inequalities is (-5, 5).
