Given inequality 2 ≤ 3x – 4 ≤ 5

⇒ 2 ≤ 3x – 4 ≤ 5

⇒ 2 + 4 ≤ 3x – 4 + 4 ≤ 5 + 4

⇒ 6 ≤ 3x ≤ 9

⇒ 6/3 ≤ 3x/3 ≤ 9/3

⇒ 2 ≤ x ≤ 3

∴ all real numbers x greater than or equal to 2 but less than or equal to 3 are solution of given equality.

x ∈ [2, 3]
