It requires fertile alluvial soil.

b. Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana are some of the states where sugarcane is grown in abundance.


India is the second largest producer of sugarcane after Brazil.
