Divergent evolution is the kind of evolution that happens when organisms that have similar anatomical structures tend to use these structures differently, according to the geographical region they may be found it. The most famous example is that of Darwin’s finches where a great deal of variations in the beaks was observed.
In plants: Thorn of Bougainvillea and tendrils of Cucurbita.
In animals: Forelimbs of whales and humans.
