Match the followi

Answer :

a) Cactus - (4) desert ecosystem ---> Cactus plants are found in the deserted areas only. The stem of cactus is modified into a fleshy green stem so as to perform the function of photosynthesis. The leaves are modified into spines to reduce water loss by transpiration.

b) Aquatic plants - (3) aquatic ecosystem ---> An ecosystem present entirely in a water body is known as an aquatic ecosystem. Aquatic ecosystems support a vast range of organisms, including microorganisms like zooplanktons and phytoplanktons, insects, plants and fishes. Aquatic plants are the producers in the aquatic ecosystem.

c) Mangroves - (2) creek ecosystem ---> The word 'creek' means a stream of water (often freshwater) smaller than a river and larger than a brook. Therefore, the creek ecosystem includes all the living as well as nonliving things present in that narrow water body. Mangrove trees are present in such locations, near the bank of the creek. Hence, mangroves are the producers in the creek ecosystem.

d) Pine - (1) forest ecosystem ---> Forest ecosystem includes the plants, animals, insects, soil, air, water, minerals and micro organisms present inside a forest. Pine trees are the big trees found in the forests. Therefore, pine trees are one of the producers of the forest ecosystem.
