A. Affirmative action – (ii) Banks offer higher rate of interest to senior citizen
Explanation – Affirmative action also called reservation. Senior citizens are offered high rate of interest by the banks because after retiring and becoming physical weak their income decreases but expenditure remains the same or increases due to various factors, hence to contribute in the development of the society and have a humanitarian factor these reservations in banks are separated for old people.
B. Equality of opportunity – (iii) every child should get free education
Explanation – Equal opportunity arises from the equal treatment of all people, unhindered by artificial barriers or preferences created by the society. Every child should be able to get free education. Due to certain reasons like lack of finance, opportunity or gender discrimination students are deprived of education. To promote education to all the children, the principle of equal opportunity should be followed.
C. Equal Rights – (i) every adult citizen has a right to vote
Explanation – equal rights means equality before the law, when all the people have same rights regardless of various social factors. One person represents one vote, thus every adult citizen above the age of 18 has a right to vote in India. No discrimination should be there o the basis of gender, caste, religion, social position or their economic status.
