It isn’t correct for a majority community in a country to rule single-handedly over the entire population which is composed of a number of diverse cultural or linguistic groups.

This is because such a government would tend to become majoritarian in their measures and their working. Gradually, the schemes of the government as well as the policies would be meted out only to benefit the people from one community, while neglecting or even harming the others.

Such a situation may lead to unrest within the minorities and in the worst of scenarios it may get transformed into a civil war. Besides, the true spirit of a democracy, where everyone must get equal representation irrespective of community or gender, gets hampered.
