ICSI- Intra-cytoplasmic sperm injection
GIFT- Gamete intrafallopian transfer
ICSI is a way to fertilise an egg with sperm by directly injecting into egg using a micro-pipette. After ICSI the resulting zygote is made to culture in the laboratory inside the incubator which stimulates intra-uterine environment.
GIFT is gamete intra-fallopian transfer and it involves putting both the eggs and sperms simultaneously inside the fallopian tube and not in the uterus. That is, in this the both the games are close to each other and they will fertilise on their own.
