How many pollen g

Answer :

100 pollen grains and 25 ovules are likely to be formed in the anther and ovary of an angiosperm bearing 25 microspore mother cell and 25 megaspore mother cells.

Microspores in an anther are arranged in a cluster of 4 cells – the microspore tetrad; each of them dissociates from each other and develop into pollen grains. Hence 25 microspore mother cells produce (25 × 4 = 100) hundred pollen grains.

Each megaspore mother cell produces 4 megaspores; in which 3 of them degenerate and develops only a single functional megaspore. This forms the ovule. Hence 25 ovules are formed in an ovary of 25 megaspore mother cell.
OR

A is a haploid embryo and B is a diploid embryo in nature.

Synergids are cells with a haploid nucleus. This makes the embryo formed from the same to be haploid in nature.

Nucellus reserve the food materials and hence are coming under somatic cells with a diploid nucleus. Thus, embryos developed are also diploid in nature.
