How does banking of roads reduce wear and tear of the tyres?

Answer :

The friction between the tyres and road is very large and causes wear and tear of tyres.

The system of raising the outer edge of a curved road above the inner edge is called banking of roads.

The banking of roads is a good way to reduce the wear and tear caused due to friction as the horizontal component of normal reaction provides the necessary centripetal force, hence reduces friction.
