On the return of favourable conditions, the encysted Amoeba undergoes multiple fission and produces pseudopodiospores. These spores are released into the surrounding medium as the cyst walls burst out. The released spores then grow into small Amoebae. This is called as sporulation.


Gemmules are the asexual buds or reproductive structures found in sponges. A gemmule is a mass of undifferentiated cells called as the archaeocytes. This is surrounded by a layer of spicule. These are formed in Scypha.

Conidia are the non-motile asexual reproductive structures or spores in fungi. These are formed in Penicillium.
