How did the silk

The trade route that linked the eastern and western parts of Asia is called the Silk route. The Chinese mainly used these routes for the worldwide export of silk.

1. The silk routes linked Asia with Europe and northern Africa.


2. Metals like gold and silver were brought from Europe to Asia.


3. Textiles, spices, and pottery were exported from India and other countries of Southeast Asia through the silk routes.


4. Buddhism emerged from eastern India. It spread to other countries of Asia through the silk route.


Thus, the silk route which was mainly used for trade linked the countries.
