How are forests a

First and the Second World War had a major impact on the forests. Forests affected wars in many ways which were-

• To meet the needs of the war, trees were cut recklessly.


• There were no proper working plans.


• The Dutch followed ‘a scorched earth’ policy and destroyed sawmills, and burning huge piles of giant teak logs so that the Japanese could not get this.


• When the Japanese had control over the forests of Java, they cut the forests for their own war industries and forcing forest villagers to cut down forests.
