Explain the terms with an example.
Functional group
Answer :
The compounds acquire specific chemical properties due to the hetero atoms or the groups. These hetero atoms or the groups containing hetero atoms are called functional groups.
Examples:- alcohol(-OH), aldehyde( – CHO)
