if concentration of A is doubled, then

(b) The overall order of the reaction will be 2. When B is present in large excess the rate of the reaction becomes independent of the concentration of B and is solely dependent on the concentration of A. the order of the reaction with respect to A is 2 hence the order of the overall reaction will also be 2 when B is present in large excess.
