Setting- The scene is set of a cricket ground where a cricket match is being played. The sun is shining bright, the birds are chirping, and the field is full with an audience sitting around the seats.
Tone/Mood- The initial tone of the poem is adoring and dreamy, as the narrator is lost into the beauty if the summer. But later tones suggests regret and apology, as he is contemplating his mistake.
Problem- The problem here is the missing of an easy catch by the narrator, who also happens to be the wicketkeeper of the team, and who was lost into the magic of summer and the thoughts of his beloved, which distracted him and made him miss the catch.
Resolve- The narrator decides to quit playing cricket forever, and instead play golf, and he thinks that cricket is not his game. He also decided to refrain from any future offers.
