The conditions of the Black towns’ were miserable. The black town was developed outside the fort II, as the Europeans did not want to be near them as they considered the black people as unhygienic and had a bad image of them. The houses in the town were laid out in straight line, and house weavers, artisans, middlemen, interpreters and other people lived there. The houses were small in size and surrounding was not healthy with no proper facilities. This caused a lot of health problems and spread of disease in the town.
