Answer :
There are large intermolecular spaces between the particles of gas. Hence gas can be compressed easily. So, by applying high pressure and lowering the temperature, a gas can be converted into a liquid.
Examples: -
a) ammonia gas can be converted into liquid by applying high pressure and reducing the temperature.
b) when high pressure is applied on gaseous carbon dioxide it gets converted into solid instead of liquid. This solid carbon dioxide is known as dry ice.
