Equity is one of the four pillars that support the idea of Human Development. The concept of ‘equity’ states that everyone gets equal access opportunities. It means that whatever opportunities are available must be equal irrespective of gender, race, income and caste of the individual. But this concept is not maintained in most of the societies and discrimination on these grounds is a common practice. There are countries which observe and records the group to which most dropouts belong to. They use these records to analyse reasons for such trends. In India it is observed that mostly women and person from economically and socially backward groups are the ones who drop out from school. This means that there are choice s are limited because of lack of equal access to knowledge.
