The advanced and efficient rearing of milch animals is called dairy farming. three characteristics of dairy farming are as follows –
a) It is highly capital intensive as sheds for animals, storage facilities for fodder and milching machines are costly.
b) the farmer has to emphasize on cattle breeding, health care and veterinary services for a successful dairy farm.
c) There is also no off-season as in agriculture making it extremely labour intensive as human labour is needed to handle the animals.
