Let the line segment joining (15, 5) and (9, 20) be divided by P(11, 15) in the ratio λ : 1.

By internal division formula,

11 =

⇒ 11λ + 11 = 9λ + 15

⇒ 2λ = 4

⇒ λ = 2

∴ Required ratio is =2:1
