Q. 134.4( 7 Votes )

If the distances of the point (0, 2) from the points (3, k) and (k, 5) are equal then find the value of k.

Answer :

We have A (3, k)

B (0, 2)

C (k, 5)

Using the distance formula,

Since B is equidistant from A and C

AB = BC

Squaring both sides

4k = 4

k = 1
