Q. 635.0( 1 Vote )

# State whether the statements are true (T) or false (F).The product of one negative and one positive term is a negative term.

Let us understand this by an example.

Let a negative and a positive term be -a and b respectively.

Then, multiply these two terms.

-a × b = (-1) × (+1) × ab

-a × b = -1 × ab [, -1 × 1 = -1]

-a × b = -ab

Similarly, take any pair of such numbers, we will always get a negative term as a negative number multiplied by a positive number always gives negative number.

Hence, this statement is true.
