# A man travelled 60 km by car and 240 km by train. Find what per cent of total journey did he travel by car and what per cent by train?

Answer :

Given, distance covered by car = 60km and

Distance covered by train = 240km

⇒ Total journey = 60 + 240 = 300km

⇒ Let x% of total journey is travelled by car

⇒ x% of 300 = 60

⇒ = 60

⇒ x = 20%

⇒ Let y% of total journey is travelled by train

⇒ y% of 300 = 240

⇒ = 240

⇒ y = 80%

Hence, 20% distance travelled by car and 80% distance travelled by train.
