Q. 7 J

The bisector of B intersects in D. If BA = 12 and BC = 16, AD = 9, then AC = ……
A. 15

B. 21

C. 18

D. 8

Answer :

We have

Given: ABD = CBD

BA = 12,

BC = 16 &

AD = 9

To find: AC = ?

, In ∆ABC bisector of B intersects AC at D.

By theorem of proportionality, we have

By reciprocating on both sides,

Substituting the values, we get

CD = 12

We can express AC as,

AC = AD + CD

AC = 9 + 12

AC = 21

Thus, option (b) is correct.
