Q. 1 D

# Find the roots of the following quadratic equation if they exist.

x^{2} - 6x + 5 = 0

Answer :

x^{2} - 6x + 5 = 0

The equation is of the form ax^{2} + bx + c = 0

Since a≠0 ,so it exists

We use the method of factorization to solve it

⇒ x^{2} - 5x - x + 5 = 0

⇒ x(x - 5) - 1(x - 5) = 0

⇒ (x - 1)(x - 5) = 0

⇒ x = 1,5
