So,


2x + 3y -8 = 0

x + 5y – 11 = 0


x + 5y = 11……(2)


Multiplying equation 2 by 2, we get


2x + 10 y = 22……..(3)


Subtracting equation 2 from 1, we get,


3y – 10 y = 11 – 22


-7y = -11



Putting this value in equation 1 we get,
